It IS conceivable that at one or more points in the history of the English war machine, it was a rank for bloodline or money militaristacracy. But during WWII? REALLY over-the-top steriotypes. Gives British actors a bad name, not to mention it's military. Not that I think the military generally deserves all it gets, and I'm a 4 year Viet Nam era vet of USMC, full honors. It's just that (as I learned the hard way) the military is not a good way to solve the world's problems, and generally the cause of most of them. Yet I understand the state of evolution of mankind, the psychology around that, AND that action flicks can be a means of moving the energy about and out of oneself without actually hurting someone. And yet, THIS movie can't even accomplish that - didn't even finish it.

The stereotypes are way over the top. Daniel Craig looks and acts as though he' s sleepwalking through his scenes. Bad acting, bad directing, gave up after one hour.

Dull, rambling TV miniseries set during World War II--but Megan Dodds looks superlative in period fashions & hairdos.
