Devotions written as if Jesus is speaking directly to a child's heart.

Based on her original Jesus Calling, this version has been adapted in a language and fashion that kids and tweens can relate to their everyday lives.

After many years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to listen to God with pen in hand, writing down what she believed He was saying to her through Scripture. Others were blessed as she shared her writings, until people all over the world were using her devotionals.  They are written from Jesus’ point of view, thus the title Jesus Calling.  It is Sarah’s fervent prayer that our Savior may bless readers, and now young readers, with His presence and His peace in ever deeper measure.

Meets national education standards.

Baker & Taylor
Presents devotions for children for every day of the year, written as if spoken by Jesus directly to the reader, each accompanied with a scriptural quotation and suggested Bible passages for further reading.

If you don't like the video (scenes of the birth from the movie "The Nativity Story) just close your eyes--and listen. I never heard this song, "Labor of Love" sung by Jill Phillips, before. Wow. This is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in a while. This is the best CD I've heard in 2011 for Christmas, and one of the best I've heard all year. It's not a movie soundtrack; it's a collection of songs with the same "flavor" as the video by a variety of artists. If you're looking to get away from the stress and busyness of the season, and want something to listen to that helps focus on the meaning of it all, I can't think of a better one. If you're looking for a special song "Labor of Love" is special. If you like this song and video, you might also like Amy Grant's "Breath of Heaven," in this video, from the same movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOQRtYYERGo
