Maybe the audio book is a better delivery method. I WAS going to borrow this book, but glancing through it at local book store changed that! I just can't believe someone wrote a whole book on a method that is described in it's title!

If you like listening to tales of how the method helped others, you might find the book interesting.

Having said (in first paragraph), I did not find the content sufficient to recommend it.

I enjoyed this book through audio book. Hearing Mel Robbins speak made the book come alive and I'm so thankful to have listened to it at the beginning of a new year. Very inspiring and helpful.

I have mixed feelings about this method. On the one hand, the 5-Second-Rule is great for getting you to do the things you ALREADY KNOW YOU SHOULD BE DOING: exercising, getting up on time, eating right, meeting new people, developing your creativity, chasing your dreams, etc. It is also useful for retraining your brain when it is stuck in negative loops, like worry or depression.

However, there are some decisions that are simply too important to just "go with your gut" on. I'd be interested to know how many of the people Mel quotes who quit their jobs or got divorces now regret those decisions, because they can't find new employment or their kids are seriously struggling with the situation. "Going with your gut" is not necessarily appropriate when your actions affect more people than just you, and sometimes it's just plain foolish. Just like anyone else, your "gut" can be wrong.

For the big decisions, I would suggest a more balanced approach. Set aside some time to weigh the pros and cons of the decision you're facing, and determine a course of action. The use the 5-Second-Rule to execute that action. That way, you won't be making a rash decision, but you won't be putting it off indefinitely either. Anyway, those are my thoughts.

I now have the reason, and the solution to my problems with using the Miracle Morning. I became exhausted getting up in the mornings and doing my stuff, even though I was getting enough sleep. It is because I have been warring with myself every morning - I never felt like doing the very things I love to do, and it was an endless struggle. This book explains why that happens and how to fix it, so simply. The method works. It is not a quick fix, but it works. Just like the Miracle Morning is not a quick fix, but over time, it works. Since I started doing the 5 second rule, I have seen amazing things happen in only 2 weeks. This is good for anyone at any age - I am 60 and starting a whole new life!
