"It is summer in Phoenix, and seventeen-year-old Maximo offers to help Jordan, a fellow student in high school, with the food truck that belonged to Jordan's deceased father, and which may be the only thing standing between homelessness for Jordan and his mom; the boys are strongly attracted to each other, but as their romance develops, it is threatened by the secrets they are hiding--and by the racism and homophobia of those around them." -- (Source of summary not specified).

Beautifully nuanced characters, a deft touch on several sensitive topics, and an absolutely adorable romance. What's not to love?

I loved this book. It was so sweet and I felt so much for these characters. Poor Jordan is dealing with things with his mom that no child should ever have to deal with and Max is working through things no person should ever have to work through. I'm glad they had each other as they find out that not everyone is as bright and shiny as they pretend to be.
