This book helps to identify the disrespectful behavior that you want stopped and how to stop it without being disrespectful yourself. If you believe you are being subjected to verbal or emotional unkindness, unwanted teasing, unacceptable anger venting, bullying, or just can't identify why you feel hurt by others all the time, and do not know how to address it effectively, this book is for you. I have been using these techniques with my husband and getting immediate positive results. When someone is being mean, responding with normal, respectful assertive communication may not do the trick. These tools fall in the realm of respectful assertive communication, but they are further tailored for dealing with difficult, sometimes heated situations. Also, putting up with put downs can become habit and over time it becomes more difficult to identify them.
