A great closing chapter in Jason Reynolds' Track series. Lu has undergone a complete transformation from the arrogant lone wolf of book 1 to co-captain of the team. We learn more about his life growing up as an albino. I learned more about albinism in this book than I ever knew before. I had never even thought about it before. While that would be enough to mark Lu out for struggle, Reynolds goes a step further in going into the backstory of Lu's father, a reformed drug dealer. He gives a brutally honest look at how drugs can ruin lives, and the scars they can leave even once you walk away from that life. Everything ties up with an almost forgotten plot thread from book 1. A satisfying ending in so many ways.
